As a global shipping company, G2 Ocean’s business activities have environmental implications. We are committed to reducing our emissions and have implemented various measures to make a positive impact on the environment.

"Our goal is to play an active role in driving sustainable development in the shipping industry. Our climate ambitions demonstrate our commitment to leading G2 Ocean towards this goal."
By 2030,
we aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions per transported unit by a minimum of 40% compared to 2008 levels and to bring zero-emission capable vessels into our fleet.
By 2050,
we aim to operate a zero-emission fleet

Learn how we work to reduce our vessel emissions.
Thanks to a number of initiatives that we have implemented, we are making progress towards our climate ambitions.
For example, we are reducing speed on our vessels when laycan allows, partnering strategically with ports and service providers to improve port productivity and reduce wait times, optimising the environmental performance of our vessels by ensuring proper antifouling and taking corrective actions as needed, and using biofuels on our vessels.
We are also continuously adding more energy-efficient vessels to our fleet, designed to use low- or zero-emission fuels such as ammonia or methanol as these become more widely available.
We recognise that achieving our climate ambitions will require collaboration and partnerships with a range of stakeholders, including cargo owners, fuel producers, ports, and policymakers. That is why we are committed to working with others to drive sustainable development in the shipping industry and to create a more sustainable future for all.

Looking for a practical way to reduce and document your transport-related emissions? G2 Ocean’s Emission Reduction Certificates allow cargo owners to purchase verified emission reductions generated through the use of certified biofuel in our vessel operations.
The service supports the reduction of Scope 3 transport emissions without requiring your cargo to be carried on a specific low-emission voyage. Each certificate is independently verified and supported by documentation for climate reporting, stakeholder communication and internal decision-making.
