Safety

At G2 Ocean, the safety of our people and the integrity of our operations are our top priorities.

Zero-injury commitment

As a global shipping operator handling large and heavy units, we recognise that certain aspects of our business activities present health and safety risks to both G2 Ocean personnel and suppliers. These risks typically arise during our cargo loading and discharging operations in ports.

We believe that all accidents related to people, the environment, cargo, and assets can be prevented and are committed to targeting zero injuries.

To achieve our zero-injury vision, we have implemented a number of safety measures and protocols, such as providing extensive safety training to our employees, conducting regular safety audits, and investing in state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

We also have a strong safety culture that emphasises the importance of reporting incidents and near-misses, enabling us to learn from them and improve our operations.

Our commitment to targeting zero injuries has become part of how we think, behave, and work, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

G2 Ocean joins ICHCA

G2 Ocean becomes a member of ICHCA International to advance safety across the cargo handling chain.

“G2 Ocean is committed to achieving zero incidents in its operations and aims to be a safety leader in the open hatch segment. This requires close collaboration with ports and service providers.”

Our Safety Behaviours

At G2 Ocean, we are committed to creating a strong safety culture across our organisation. To achieve this, we have defined a set of shared safety behaviours, known as the 5 Safety I's, that guide our employees in their daily work.

These behaviours include seeking and sharing insights, intervening when necessary, positively influencing each other to perform better, striving to be innovative in all safety matters, and integrating safety in all aspects of our behaviour and work processes. By following these behaviours, we work towards our goal of zero injuries.

Life-Saving Rules

In addition to the 5 Safety I's, we have implemented 10 Life-Saving Rules that provide guidance for working safely. These rules highlight the life-saving actions employees can take to protect themselves and others from risks and are a daily tool available for everyone working at G2 Ocean.

We are committed to ensuring that all our employees are aware of these rules and take them seriously.
