G2 Ocean join MACN

G2 Ocean follows our owners, and has joined the Maritime Anti Corruption Network. Corruption has to be fought – every day.

It is a sad fact that corruption is still an issue in the shipping industry. At G2 Ocean we do not accept any kind of bribery, corruption or facilitation payments. Strong policies and training of our employees are central to us.

Both our owners, Gearbulk and Grieg Star, have been members of MACN for a long time. Now we are a member in our own right. In doing so we will be able to contribute to this important network. We will work closely together with our owners to support our seafarers and our suppliers with combatting any bribery or corruption issues around the world.

MACN Vision: “A maritime industry free of corruption that enables fair trade to the benefit of society at large”

– Bribery and Corruption is counterproductive to our business. It may seem like an easy way out. But in the long term it hampers the ability of all involved to do business correctly and sustainably. Corruption and bribery is theft. We cannot accept that, says Business Process & Compliance Manager David Gooding.
