G2 Ocean improves six points in Ecovadis’s annual sustainability ranking and is awarded as one of the top three per cents of transportation companies with regards to sustainability.

The sustainability rating platform Ecovadis has again awarded G2 Ocean with a Silver rating. The company is rated among the top three per cent of transportation companies with regards to sustainability and has climbed six points since last year’s ranking.

“Our team has done a great job to secure this result and it is pleasing to see that we have climbed seven points on the ranking this year; it shows that we are working in the right direction,” says Director Legal and Compliance Cecilie Koch Hatlebrekke.

Continuous improvement

Ecovadis assess policies, procedures, actions and measuring systems of approximately 60,000 company in over 198 industry sectors each year. The companies are given an overall score (0-100) based on their performance within the following categories:

  • Sustainable procurement

G2 Ocean achieved an overall score of 64 points in the recent assessment – an improvement of six points since last year.

“Our strongest areas are Labour & Human Rights and Ethics. In these two categories, we scored 70 on a 0 to 100 range,” says Koch Hatlebrekke.

Aiming for the gold medal

G2 Ocean will, however, not rest on its laurels. The ambition is to achieve the Gold rating.

“The report shows that we still have some work to do to improve our social, economic and environmental efforts. We are passionate about our employees, the business and the world around us, and we will continue to work strategically to climb further on the ranking,” Koch Hatlebrekke says.
