The ships

G2 Ocean operates the world´s largest fleet of open-hatch gantry craned vessels and open-hatch jib craned vessels that set the standards for worldwide ocean transportation services. With approximately 130 vessels at any given time, we can service a wide range of businesses and geographical areas at the same time.

The cranes

From 1965 gantry cranes has been a standard for our Open Hatch vessels. In 1996 we also introduced jib cranes on some of our vessels. Our fleet now holds a perfect mix of the two crane types, securing flexibility and quality regardless of cargo.

The equipment

Our specialised equipment partners perfectly with our specialised fleet. G2 Ocean’s in-house technicians ensure equipment is maintained to top standards. Ongoing R&D helps us identify how to improve equipment performance and design more advanced cargo handling systems which are built and outfitted in our own workshops. All of which helps us fulfil our commitment to safe cargo loading, discharge and transport.

The cargo

From lumber to newsprint. From granite to aluminium. From orange juice to liquid pitch.  From windmills to railcars to pipes. The variety of commodities we can carry is vast. And we never shy away from a challenge.

Have a look at some of the different cargoes we have transported.

Our systems

We believe in continuously looking for more efficient ways of working. Digital solutions are incorporated in how we work, and we strive to make shipping with us as easy as possible for our customers. The amount of documents and information in the shipping industry is overwhelming. Our systems make it easier to keep track, to get the right documents when you need them, and to find what you need, when you need it.

Where we go

Unlike conventional bulk, our Open Hatch ships travel the world in defined routes, with predefined ports. You will always know which ports the vessel will visit, and when it will be where. You will know when your cargo leave the home port, and when you can expect it to arrive. That makes it easy for you to plan ahead.

This interactive map show all our trade routes world wide.

Our partners

We believe working together is better than trying to do everything on your own. That is why we have a vast network of agents and operators all around the world. Using the trades map or our search engine, you will always get info on who is the local agent where you are planning to ship your cargo.
